A telegram from Camp Merritt New Jersey reports Soldier Harlen Blaker son of Mr and Mrs Will Blaker has died from pneumonia. His remains will arrive here today. Also the Dolson correspondent notes Dave Montgomerys spring wheat seed was delayed but arrived in time to sow Saturday marking the first sowing here in a long period.

Death of O N Nightlinger Near Marshall
O N Nightlinger died suddenly last Friday morning after a paralytic stroke earlier in the year. He suffered a second stroke while with A Stover at his farm east of town and died within moments. He was nearly 59, born in Ohio and long a Marshall resident. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and two sons, including Russell in the army in New Jersey. Funeral services were held at his home Monday, conducted by Rev. C. W. Ham.

City Council Approves Grass Law and Archives License Measure
Monday night the city council debated the team ster license ordinance amid petitions for repeal. The council ordered enforcement for the new municipal year starting May 1 and passed a grass and weed maintenance ordinance for property owners. Dr J W Smith joined the board of health. Firemen salaries rose from 60 to 65 dollars monthly and from 25 to 35 cents per hour. Marshal Riley noted three arrests and a 3 dollar fine. West Union Bazaar Raises Funds for Red Cross Chapter
West Union Red Cross held a Saturday bazaar drawing neighbors and distant donors. Many items sold including a White Langshan rooster named Captain Patterson for 40 dollars and a Red Cross quilt for 44 dollars. Burglars Hit Westfield Store in Sunday Night Theft
Thieves burglarized Stovall's store at Westfield stealing clothing, shoes, silks, suitcases and other merchandise. They fled town on a hand car along the Sidell and Olney road and abandoned the car near Kensas.

Surprise Party For Mrs Buyer And Daughters
Last Tuesday a surprise party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Albert Sockler south of town in honor of Mrs L Buyer and her daughters who soon leave for Berne Indiana. The Grand Turn church and their families totaling fifty eight arrived to express affection and esteem. Miss Blanche Lehbafer gave readings and music filled the evening along with popcorn balls candy and apples. The gathering expressed regret at their departure and praised the Buyers for their inspiration and help in Marshall.
