Clark County Fair board to discuss new 4 H barn

Clark County Fair Association will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss erecting a new 4 H barn on county land. Forsythe Farm Bureau and 41 Clubs have donated funds totaling 9,000 toward construction. Ohio Company is being approached for additional support to have the barn ready for the August fair.

Marshall Street Department Head Dies Sudden

Hubert B D Irwin age 56 superintendent of streets and alleys in Marshall died suddenly Saturday morning while with his crew at the city dump west of town. Survived by widow Effie son Chester and two daughters Mrs Dudley Beltz and Mrs Robert Fraker all of Marshall. Also four brothers and two sisters. Body removed to Moore Funeral Home with services Tuesday at 2 pm conducted by Rev H J Kemp. Burial in Marshall Cemetery.

Zion Emmanuel Women’s Society Meets in Quiet Session

The Zion Emmanuel Women’s Society of World Service held its monthly meeting at Mrs. Arthur Miller’s home. Mrs. Ruth Berner was elected president with Minnie King as vice president, Clara Miller secretary, and Fairy Imle treasurer. Fifteen members and one guest attended. Berner will represent the group at the Sinois Branch convention in Freeport May 25 to 27.

Play Day Highlights Clark County Home Bureau event

The Clark County Home Bureau held a half day Play Day on Friday March 26 at the American Legion Hall Marshall drawing 215 attendees including out of county visitors from Vigo Indiana. The day featured games square dancing a pot luck lunch a varied program of five minute entertainments and unit exhibits with craft displays and demonstrations from twenty units.
