In New Orleans on Oct 24 Judge Bigator ordered the council to pay witnes fees at the next meeting. Failing to do so, Councilmen Bau man Brennan Carey Carroll Lord Mus sen Paterne and Winn were cited for contempt, suspended, fined five dollars, and sent to Paria prison for ten days. They appealed to the supreme court for a writ of prohibition.
Malcolm Hay died recently and expressed a wish his burial sun would shine. His funeral was held at Ridge Avenue residence Allegheny City conducted by Bishop Whitehead with prominent attendees including First Constable Postmaster General Stevenson and Congressman Hosking. Interment was private at Allegheny Cemetery.
