The community of Marion was marked by a large turnout for the Winch funeral held near Theta. Attendees included numerous local families and members from nearby areas as tribute paid to Podeack Wane whose death prompted the services. Interment followed at Brookdale Cemetery with a long procession of mourners and friends in attendance.
Liva, six, daughter of Vaioo and Vix PW Tanalton of Pearl Street Was operated on for necrosis at Mt Carmel hospital on Columbus Wednesday afternoon. This marks her sixth operation. doctors call the latest a success and she will likely be brought home within a few days.
A foreigner, Peter Zanbosky or Zimboshy, employed in Owens stone quarries, is accused after consuming about two dozen bottles of beer and multiple quarts of whisky in under forty hours. The vestry of the Pmantel bith eran elmnich held a regular monthly meeting at the church on Tuesday. Attendance was good and only routine business was transacted. The next meeting is set for the first Tuesday in June.
A Watron County Medical Society meeting drew large attendance at the Carnegie library building Tuesday evening. Dr D O Weeks delivered an essay on The Dignity of the County Medical Society. Dr W V Newhouse was admitted to membership. the next meeting is planned for the evening of [date] with Maud Bull presenting a paper.
Prosper Maj reports George Welch, a prosperous farmer, died at his home near Prospect on Tuesday after a paralysis stroke. He was seventy seven years old and survived by a widow and two brothers Mas Carne Smith of Monnon and Peyton Welch of North Richwood. Funeral is set for Monday at 2 PM from his residence, with Rev Nicholas Kenney of the Methodist Protestant church officiating, burial in Bethlehem cemetery.
