The funeral of Myrtle Schwable, 20, 10 months, 7 days, was conducted at the Schwable home near Morral with Rev J A Sutton officiating. Burial followed at Prospect cemetery after services at Thompson's chapel. She died at her father in law George Schwable's home Wednesday night from typhoidal fever. She married Harry G Schwable on October 28 1907.
The J H Head residence two miles west of La Rue was struck by lightning Friday at about 3 pm. The bolt traveled down the chimney and circled the second floor, knocking plaster and igniting clothing. Mrs Tread and her daughter, in the house, did not notice the smoke until the fire began. Mr Head in the barn was stunned for minutes. overall damage was limited.
County Auditor Charles L. Allen reports Marion County banks valued at 715,455 dollars, up 25,925 from last year, representing sixty percent of capital stock, surplus and profits. Five banks are in Marion, with two each in LaRue Prospect Caledonia, plus Morral Waldo and Green Camp. The Columbus Delaware & Marion Railway line appraisal rose by 126 dollars per mile to 5,910 dollars per mile.
W C Torrence traveled to Shellburne Canada on June 1 after being summoned by news of his brother James Torrence death. James died when a large barn rafter fell pinning him during construction. He leaves a wife and three children. he was well known in the city and had visited here several times.

In LaRue on June 19 Mrs. Sarah J. Pickering, 70, died at her daughter’s home two miles south of Juaque after years of invalidism. She leaves three children Millard and A D Pickering of Marion and Mrs. William Parker. Funeral Sunday at 10 at Fairview Church conducted by Rev. E. Long. Also a livestock sale notice lists Bonnie and May priced at 12 and 15 dollars at McElroy barn Green Camp.
A new motor gas called alkvetline formed by spraying dilute alcohol over calcium carbide mixes air and alcohol vapor. It proves cheaper than gasoline and can be produced with apparatus adaptable to any high speed gasoline motor.
Henry Rupp seventy four a pioneer resident of Pleasant township died at his home Friday morning after three strokes of paralysis over three years. He farmed all his life and is survived by a widow and several children including William Cyrus Wesley Jacob and Thomas Rupp Mrs Belle Falk Mrs Ida Winder and Mrs Z Adams all in the county. He leaves two brothers and two sisters Solomon Rupp of Henry county William Rupp in eastern state John Curran of Henry county and Minerva Hairuff of Cridersville Allen county.
Prospect June 19 Special Paul B Gast entertained the choir of St Pauls Lutheran church at his home Thursday evening About twenty five enjoyed the hospitality of the Gast home Mr Gast was presented an umbrella by the choir Rev L H Darel Brink made the presentation speech The evening was passed with music and other amusements after which a nice lunch was served Mr Gast who is an organist of St Pauls church gave a recital at the church Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Rosa M. Webster of Galion and Mr. W N Bryan of Chattanooga were married in Pittsburg at the groom's sister’s home on Wednesday. The ceremony surprised many friends in this city and the marriage is noted as a happy event for both families.
In Caledonia on June 19 Guy Jackson of Hoison narrowly escaped death during the dismantling of the M B church building. A supporting beam on a roof truss loosened as a truss was lowered, causing timbers to fall. Jackson, standing on a purlin, grabbed a scaffold and held on until help arrived, sustaining a badly bruised leg and other injuries.
Prospect, June 19. William Gear died at his sister Mrs. Charles Fetty’s home Thursday evening at 7. Heart trouble caused the death after a two week illness. He leaves a wife three children a sister and a brother. He was forty six and well known here. The funeral is set for Saturday at 2 pm at Mrs. Chiles Felty’s home.
