The remains of Frank Dungy, son of Mrs. Alabama Dungy, are expected today with a soldier escort. He died in the war and is the first war hero body returned for burial in Creal Springs since the conflict. Commander James Goddard of Williamson Post 147 at Marion is to lead the services.

Fire truck crashes into parked Ford during city fire call

Funeral for Hero at Creal Springs
Private Frank B. Dungee of the Medical Department 309th Field Artillery is brought home for burial with military honors in Creal Springs. The service is set for Sunday at 2 p m at Ozark park pavilion with interment in the local cemetery. The Marion American Legion wreaths the casket as the West Frankfort Legion assists with another funeral. Dungee was born March 20 1892 and died September 14 1918 near Oscie France after a field piece exploded. He entered service April 28 1918 and landed in France June 4 1918. His body arrived in Creal Springs today. Mrs William Abney of South Court Street was reported better on Friday.
