Glen Allen lodge No. 443 A. D. J. W. held a grand celebration at Rhodes park last Thursday. About 500 attended with amusements and plentiful refreshments. C. W. Rhodes prepared an excellent dinner. A risqué show by Banister Brothers drew mild disapproval. Grand Recorder Bohn spoke on the order’s advantages. An evening ball in Berry's hall concluded the event with good attendance.

Two Key Decisions From Southeast Assessors Convention
Bollinger county stood out at the recent convention of assessors with Assessor Jamison in attendance. They enacted 100 percent valuation on money notes stocks and bonds and set property at its actual cash value on June 1. Aiming to improve taxation, the group urged a legislative measure to list due taxable notes and money. Wilkers of Clay was named chairman and Hairstow of Howard secretary. the next meeting is scheduled for February.

Decoration Day Memorial Service Observed in Twin Cities
Memorial services for Decoration Day were conducted by Rev. James Lafferty at the Presbyterian church with stars, stripes and flowers adorning the interior. The G A R and Sons of Veterans attended in full uniform. A parade led by T R Green’s col onel’s unit joined a Sunday school procession and graves were decorated at the cemetery.
