Public notices announce Hon. Robert A. Anthony and Hon. Jerry B. Burks as candidates for Judge of the Twenty-seventh Judicial Circuit subject to Democratic action. Gurstheal closes February 26 with closing exercises and speeches by Prof W A Davault. Teachers Hinziker and Dunziker praised. baskets aid a large dinner. May Muskey and Nellie Huskey visit. Mrs Amanda Slinkard sells property and moves to St Louis.
Bud Young and Geo Baker cut belts on Wes Bess tract while John Baker hauls lows to Holaums mill. Rarl Brewer dries wood. Farmers haul belts and sort oils. No local post office or easy mail access due to bad roads. Temperance supporters deny prohibitionist labels and defend anti alcohol stance citing Republican history in Maine Iowa and Kansas.
Health good in the area with much mud. Amazing Cook near here completes a term of school in James district last Friday. Born to Mr and Mrs F M Masters February 22 a big boy. Joln Masters remains on the play list. Several locals attended Scopus school closing February 20 with a lively reception and fine music. Prof W A Davault spoke at exercises. Lillie Limbaugh to finish a term next Thursday. Mrs Annie Nicodemus of St Louis visiting Frances Linebarger. Lost Angel.
