Mentions Farmington whiskey, local Option, hunting, school closings, and a range of small notices from residents and officials.
Finney of Laflin is very sick. Born on the 16th to Geo Harper’s wife a girl. Riley Robins went to Charleston on business. T Sutherland and R Young went to DeSoto last week. W V Cashion of St Louis was here on business. Mr Danforth of Charleston bought mules. Miss Jenna Whitener of Marquand visiting O J Snider. King and Lutes shipped two carloads of hogs to St Louis. Ramsey and son of Millerville visiting. Marble Hill foot bridge status questioned. Mrs A J Campbell remains ill. Rev N F Tong went to Deihlstadt for meetings. Dr Mayfield of Laflin attended Sunday. infant sick. Emanuel Monser and Jacob Ingleheardt new subscribers. Buck Carleton of Ky visiting relatives then returned home. Many attended Glen Allen exhibition. reports of a good time. Jacob Mayfield and daughter bitten by a mad dog. Rev S P Smith of Oak Ridge spent days here. purchased M C Hartey’s M E Baptist interest. 58 P Smith sole proprietor. Rev Geo Brown formerly pastor now route RR agent at eight hundred salary.
J W Slinkard nurses a sore hand. A boy born to the wife of J W King on the 15th and a child born to Mr and Mrs J W Back on the 6th. Brownwood visitor W H E Brown arrives the 11th. King and Dan forth buy hogs on the 17th and 18th. Mrs Rhoda Jamison visits Marble Hill. No mail from the 1st to the 17th due to rail washouts. Married Jum A Williams to Martha A Wells on the 1st at the bride’s home. Castor River floods damage fencing and drown stock. Losses include Judge McMinn 20 cattle, David Hall 16 cattle and 2 horses, Wm Randolph 7 cattle, and E B Simpkins 3 cattle.
Wm. Finney recovered from a serious illness at Dr. Finney's and is convalescent. Father Bettels traveled to Cape Girardeau last week and stayed several days. A cold snap occurred last Monday and hog killing was common. Mrs. James H. Crader remains very low and unwell for weeks. James Clingingemith injured a finger badly last week. Miss Efe Horn, visiting relatives, has returned to Oak. Mrs. Emmard visited Oak to check on Horn who is very ill. A note mentions George Basohner and aviation remarks.

The county court of Bollinger, Missouri orders Sheriff John Hoskey to publish and sell unsold school lands in multiple portions of section 16 and other parcels. Terms require 20 percent cash at sale and rest on 12 month credit with eight percent interest, with buyers providing two securiti es. The lands span several townships and ranges totaling hundreds of acres, including portions of sections 16 and 6, townships 28 to 33, range 8 to 10 east, plus lands previously sold under school fund mortgage and now held by the county.
