The owner announces removal to the Elegant New Brick store of H. Mr. Smith by April 1, 1894 and launches a sharp reduction sale for a new and complete line of general merchandise in Bollinger County. Bargains are emphasized as urgently needed to attract shoppers.
The ad lists pressed goods and yarns with steep cuts from regular prices to low sale figures. Items include worsted and wool fabrics, dress ginghams, calicoes, prints, skirting, bleached and unbleached cottons, linen tablecloths, red ticks, bed ticks, and domestic fabrics with discounted per yard prices.
Local shop cuts prices on ladies lace and button shoes with many items reduced from 31.10 to 75, 81 to 85, 90 to 55, 1.35 to 95 cis, 1.75 to 1.25, and 1.35 to 95 cis. Mens shoes drop to 2.50 or less with hats marked 25 percent below former costs. Boots heavily discounted.
Ruvus J. Adams argues for Bollinger county as an ideal low-cost land area with good shipping near Marble Hill and Métisville. He notes the county’s rocky hills hinder general farming but cite strong potential for fruit and vegetable growing and urges collective local action to attract settlers and establish a rotating crop system for steady summer returns.
Special to the Iuess reports that Senator White of Louisiana is confirmed today as associate justice of the supreme court. The action followed a heated session with swift party lines and surfaced amid prior planning and an earlier ejectment related to the same appointment.
The undersigned order will pay twenty five dollars for the first conviction of Dr S M Mc Anally for selling intoxicating liquor in Marble Hill Bollinger County Missouri. Ten dollars will be paid for the first conviction of any other person for selling without license or other violations of Missouri liquor laws in Davict town Marble Will. Convictions are final before a Justice of the Peace or Circuit Court, and rewards go to the informer. Dated February 20 1894. James UH Clark was Tuesday confirmed as register of the land office at Ironton to succeed James Noell who was removed. Mann Rinen was recently confirmed as reviewer of the office. The office is now in Democratic hands and Noell will move to St Louis to practice law.
A letter from M A Watrackr of Lattesville Missouri offers two year old Ben Davis and Winesap apple trees at 9 cents each or 83.09 per hundred, with other fruits including peach and plum trees priced per unit. He also sells one year old apple trees at 8 cents each or 7 per 106 and offers pruning services for orchards.

A. B. Clippard and Miss Cora Elfrank were married at the bride’s father Henry Elfrank home last Tuesday evening at o o clock. Probate Judge Jasper Frymire performed the ceremony. Only families attended with Judge and Mrs Frymire Mr and Mrs Tom Allen and Misses Liszie Snider and Nel Lie Bedwell. A neat supper followed at 19 o'clock. The bride wore brown cashmere trimmed in brown satin ribbon. Wedded couple receive best wishes of friends and family.
A local removal sale lists wool and cassimere jeans, suits, and overcoats with prices slashed from two to ten dollars. Items include mens wool pants from 81.50 to 5 per pair, cassimere pants at 81.70, and suits reduced to as low as 8.95. Many ages and sizes featured with hundreds of other cheap goods.
County court met in regular session to approve road work and prison labor rules, set rail rates per mile for several railroads, ordered removal of a public privy, and appoint road overseers. It authorized foreclosures on school fund bonds, contracted wood for the courthouse, and approved numerous county bills and settlements including care of the poor and asylum expenses.
