The Democratic central committee met last Thursday with strong attendance and harmony. They named the date for the county ticket nomination and urged united support for a clean top to bottom slate. Champ Clark announced the nomination for Jupo e Parker with an accepting address noted as satisfactory by metropolitan press.
The writer predicts Bro Marty at the head of the Democratic ticket in Carter County will win election and bring an honest representative to the county. He notes M. Harry remains at his old post and commends Marty's clean paper.

Senator Grerce Graham Vest, long public servant and Missouri political figure, died at his Sweet Springs home on an August day. Born December 6, 1880 in Frankfort Kentucky, he moved to Missouri in 1853 and spent over four decades in public service. He rests in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis, with tributes pouring in nationwide for Missouri's "Little Giant."

Joseph Polk is noted as a nephew of Senator Bate.
Bollinger county Democratic central committee met at Marble Hill with members listed. Rules set quorum, proxies, delegated voting, and mass meeting dates for delegates to the county convention. Townships assigned delegate counts. meeting adjourned with W A Dunn as chairman and W B Youst as secretary. Hon M R Smith of Farmington billed to speak.
Oran seeks the county seat of Scott County while New Madrid promotes water works. An electric railroad runs between Farmington and Delassus for several weeks. In Farmington last Thursday a buggy accident killed Mrs. Sam Perringer and seriously injured Mrs. Jasper N. Burks. A Crowder area tragedy claims a d year old Nathan Story son when a brother shoots him playfully. The Whitener family plans a large reunion and barbecue at Marquand on September 8 to honor the 100th anniversary of Henry Whitener’s arrival in Missouri, with descendants scattered across Madison.
County court proceedings from 1904 record petitions to establish or survey public roads. Appointed constables, approved salaries and expenses, and reports on road petitions. Grand jurors drawn, various allowances for jail work, election rooms, and court costs. Court adjourned to Sept 9, 1904.
A transcript execution from Bollinger County Circuit Court directs a sale in favor of J J Chandler against J A Cazad and M A Cazad. The sheriff has levied on the real estate in Bollinger County described as the west half of the northeast quarter.
The sheriff will sell the west half of the southeast quarter of section ten township twenty nine north range nine east containing 160 acres more or less. The sale is Friday September 16 194 between 9 am and 5 pm at the north front door of the courthouse Marble Hill. Proceeds go to satisfy an execution and costs. Our Correspondents report fine rains in the past week promising good corn crops. Farmers finished threshing and wheat appears fair in this vicinity. Local updates mention visits and a new birth, plus a few townsfolk traveling to the World's Fair.
Over two rigs, C. C. Senbaugh's met Beollineer's passed thru here last Saturday on their way home. Mrs T. B. Drum and daughter, Mrs Myrtle, spent several days at the World's Fair recently. T. B. Drum was in the south end of the county last week, looking after his farming interests. Larrie Jor,
Last Sunday afternoon a severe rain and wind storm caused extensive damage to fences corn and fruit trees. Kaiser Brothers hay stacks were blown down and J Crader's barn was unrooted. Residents report mineral prospecting along Hog creek with fine specimens found. Pierce Jones and Oscar Huskey visited Cape Girardeau native Elisha Jones promotes sale of books. May Huskey started school in Johnson district on August 4. Mrs Marzilla Points and children visited Burfordville relatives last week. Esqr Huskey of Pioneer Cooperage Company was briefly at home while sick.
Health remains generally good with some dysentery incidents. Grandmothers Sample and Mrs J W Sample visit D R Seabaugh's place. Mrs D B Seabaugh ill but improving. Oliver Hartle welcomed a baby girl. both mother and child doing well. Mrs Henry M Statler improving after a period of illness. Uncle Joe Seabaugh visited daughters near Daisy. Lillie Kurre visiting Jackson area. Dr Ed Crites active in town. Julius Bollinger back from St Louis fair. Recent rains spur farmers to start wheat plowing. John Adam Seabaugh turning soil.
