J Stokes of Hartville, recently insured in Missouri, died from heart failure early yesterday. He had stayed at the Zeke Miller farm about 10 miles southeast of Mansfield and collapsed soon after entering his buggy. Stokes, 40, had married Novina Crisp about a year and a half ago. He had a history of heart trouble.

C E Austin and George Johnson left Lawn by livery to Bryant and Camped near Judge J A Baker's farm in Douglas county. On Sunday one cow died while tethered and is suspected to have died from mud or poison. No injuries or marks found. rope around neck loose. A $100,000 fire tore through the wares house of Protiva, Haraik & Cho near the railway tracks in Willow Springs. Winds fanned the flames to the Frisco freight depot, coal cars, Goodwin & Jean poultry house, Catholic church, and two nearby residences, with sparks igniting several smaller fires. The depot was saved after two hours of effort by volunteers and citizens, prompting a call for improved waterworks in Mansfield.
A city schools region including Mountain Grove Norwood Manstrel and Hartville faced railroads refusing to pay taxes. Curtis and Frank sued to enforce a higher levy on the $100 value after annexed territory outside town limits.
