Beekeeping Tips From Mansfield Ava Ava

Dear Editor I have many inquiries about beekeeping and share latest experiences at my apiary The main factors are a 2 story hive with shallow frames a ventilated bottom a good double cover shade and open air Bees cluster with heat but the double walled ventilated hive keeps brood and honey expanding and requires action by a careful beekeeper Keep the extractor going and harvest nectar for family Think of it ten gallons of honey per colony If lacking an extractor place an empty frame under a full one to flood honey and keep room for bees For small hives remove surplus honey leave three frames of pure honey replace combs to center brood nest divide carefully If you are not perfect keep your hands off Experts may divide swarms later this year next time Ava OFTTING
