Amanda Ann Borders, born November 25 1582 in Darke County Ohio, died February 12 aged 57 years 7 months 1 day at her daughter's home. She joined the Baptist church in Cedar Gap after leaving the Methodist church. Survived by six children 40 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. funeral Friday conducted by Rev J M Kneeland, burial Crane Cemetery beside her husband Christopher Borders.
The body of W. H. Frye, a former resident, was brought from Ola, Kansas for interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery after being killed by a Missouri Pacific train. Grandma Farmer, an aged Hurtville resident and mother of Dr A J Farmer, died and was buried. Mrs Bert Amick, near Anthony Kansas, a niece of G W Freeman, died and was interred at Mountain Circle. John Freeman, brother of G W Freeman, died in Oklahoma and was buried nearby.

In Caruthersville Missouri on February 1 a mass meeting of Pemiscot County citizens adopted resolutions endorsing the Gardner rural credits bill prepared by Fred D. Garden of St. Louis and introduced by Senator Craig and Representative Simpson. The Missouri Retail Clothiers Association, meeting in St. Louis, also endorsed the Gardner bill.
