Death of Mrs Mabel Strawbridge Walden

Mrs Mabel Strawbridge Walden of 807 N Bourland Ave Peoria died at Methodist hospital Peoria at 11 30 a m after months of poor health She was born October 2 1898 in Green Valley and married Archie Walden June 29 1924 Surviving family includes a foster son Roger Woodrum three sisters Mrs Maude Squires Mrs Emma Boyer Mrs Faye Anderson and seven brothers Roy George Edward Louis Harold plus half brothers Tom and Orie Strawbridge Funeral services were held at Cumerford Endsley Memorial Home Peoria with Rev Jos W Hobbs officiating Interment Lakeside cemetery Pekin Pall bearers were Roger Woodrum Norman Strawbridge Tommy Strawbridge Wayne Strawbridge Ralph Mitchell and John Robert Squire.

Kennedy couple announce birth of son in Lincoln

Mr and Mrs Olen Kennedy announce the birth of a son on Monday morning October 15 at Deacones Hospital Lincoln Illinois. The infant weighed eight pounds and has a sister Carol aged six. The mother is the former Mary Kay Rosendahl daughter of E J Rosendahl of Petersburg. The paternal grandparents are Mrs L N Kennedy and the late L N Kennedy of Havana.

Eureka College Hosts Homecoming Weekend Events

Eureka College in Illinois plans a three day Homecoming October 19 to 21 with stunt night and coronation of the Homecoming Queen by President Burrus Dickinson. Forman Band Meets Parents and Plans Instrument Rentals

A Beverly Music Co representative visited Forman Unit schools to gauge interest in a band project. Parents met at Forman High School to discuss temporary instrument rental and future purchases. Ageing Parkin girl injured in hay rack accident

Alice Kay Parkin, 14, daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Parkin of Spring Lake, was riding a hay rack at a Boy Scout party when she slipped on straw and fell. She suffered a broken leg and is hospitalized at St Francis in Peoria where x rays confirmed the injury. Friends in Spring Lake and Manito are invited to write.
