The Old and The New Depots At Manito and Forest City

The old yellow painted railroad stations of the Chicago and Illinois Midland Railroad Company in Manito and Forest City are being torn down. New brick twin structures rise beside the sites as replacements and the remaining old buildings will be removed once the new depots enter service.

Rotary Club Sees 3-D Pictures From Arizona Tour

Manito Rotary members viewed three dimensional color pictures at the Tuesday meeting. John Meeker, the program chairman, presented images from a Northeast Arizona trip labeled Valley of Monuments. Fresno Rotarian Mr. Meeker gave a short talk. two visitors attended.

Forman High School principal Beryl LeCount will show pictures of the Senior Class trip to New Orleans at the Forman Home and School Club meeting on November 16 in Manilo. Will Record Corn History In Mason County

Mason County PMA leaders Rudolph Hackman Bill Umbach and Floyd Fink received a call from Field Man Ewell Gerdes to compile corn planting history for 1951 1952 and 1953 as preparation for potential 1954 allotment. Community committees will collect data on crops while PMA handles 204 corn loan applications at 1.62 dollars. Sealer Ralph Kreiling inspects cribs and mails samples to Springfield with moisture readings generally approved for loans.

Seymour's clothing store in Pekin announces the reopening of its Manito branch in the Hopper Smith building between the Post Office and Seelye Garage.
