Beauty and the Reef Junior Class Play at Jenler Gym

The Beauty and the Reef junior class play directed by Mr Averett Welwood will be staged Thursday and Friday night at 7 pm in the Jenler High gym. Dareld Meyer plays Giunte with Nancy Dewell as Frannie, Merriel Dierker and Wilma Kreiling as Otunies' parents, and Jim Wattrauer and Daryl Thompson as Reef and Foggy.

Harlem Globetrotters Show Raises Pool Fund

Nearly 800 spectators filled Forman gymnasium to watch the Harlem Globetrotters blend skill and comedy. Proceeds from the game go to the Manito Forest City Optimist club to complete the local swimming pool project.

Hospitalization and transfers in Pekin and Sunny Acres

Mrs Emma Pollard has been a patient in Pekin Public Hospital since Friday March 18 after a fall caused a broken hip. She will be confined to the hospital for ten days to two weeks. George Kidman, in Methodist Hospital for three weeks, plans to be dismissed this week and go to Sunny Acres.
