A group of church ladies assisted with the move of Rev. and Mrs. Young into the parsonage on Tweeday. Gravel was donated to improve the driveway. A pot luck supper and reception are planned for Sunday evening March 6 at 6 30 in the church basement hosted by the Comrades of the Way Sunday School Class.
Mrs Mary Garlish 71 longtime Manito resident died Wednesday night at Pekin Public Hospital after a week at Floys Nursing Home She was born June 30 1883 in Tazewell County married William Garlish February 11 1910 in Manito He died in 1948 Survived by son Alfred three sisters Louise Smith Elizabeth Eschmeyer Anna Garlish Havana three brothers Henry Clarence Fornoff William Fornoff and one granddaughter Funeral at 2 pm Saturday at St Pauls Lutheran Church with Rev Lester Kuker burial in Meadow Lawn Cemetery Visitation at Johnson Funeral Home until 10 am Saturday then body to church for instate
Mrs. Albert Moore has been hired to fill the position left by the resignation of Miss Catherine Meeker. Moore began her duties on Monday morning of this week at Peoples State Bank.

A baby girl named Lou Anne was born Sunday morning February 27 to Mr. and Mrs. Loren Meeker at Pekin hospital. She weighed eight pounds 14% ounces. This is the couple’s first daughter, joining brothers Dale and Darrell. The mother is Mary Quick, and grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Sam Meeker and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Quick.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Limback announce the birth of their daughter Kathy Sue born Monday at Lincoln hospital. The family named the baby in a traditional ceremony as the infant joins their home.
Mr and Mrs Laurence Parkin announce the birth of their daughter named Kim Lynatte. The mother and child returned home from the hospital on Tuesday March 1.

The Florida Prince Charming contest begins with eight candidates from four classes at Forman Chapter F.H.A. The winner will receive the Prince Charming award and honorary membership. Pennies placed in restaurant containers and at Forman High School tally votes for each contestant.
