Fred Waring Choral Workshop At Delaware Water Gap

Miss Alice E. Conover of Warsaw Illinois joins 95 professional musicians at the Fred Waring Choral Workshop in Delaware Water Gap Pennsylvania this week. The six day course features Waring instructors including Bob Banner teaching television orientation with demonstrations of conducting, recording, and program building by a professional Waring staff. This seventh season marks the workshop’s first in its new permanent home with housing in the Ennis Davis Dormitory of the Waring Enterprises Building.

Return from Weeklong Pleasure Trip by Local Couple

Mr and Mrs Keith French of Pekin and Mrs Chas Harbaugh of Manito completed a 1967 mile tour through Indiana Kentucky Tennessee North Carolina Georgia Alabama and Illinois. They visited Vincennes Louisville Chattanooga Nashville Cher okee Indian Reservation and Rock City noting 6643 ft Clingman Dome and 16 high peaks in Old Smokey. They crossed the Ohio River at Hawksville and found Santa Claus land and a dry harvest in Illinois with their car in good repair.

On June 28 Mr and Mrs V G Gore learned their son Captain Glenn C Gore had arrived at Camp Stoneman San Francisco from Korea where he spent the past year His wife met him at Camp Carson Colorado Springs where the Captain received his discharge Their small son Stephen stayed with grandparents during the absence The family then traveled to the Gore home in Galesburg for a few days before returning to their own house with their son.
