The thirty fourth Mason County basketball tourney began at Havana Community High School Gym with Easton vs Bath Lynchburg and Forman vs San Jose. Forman triumphed 47 45 on Parker Lawliss last second basket after San Jose tied with a 35 footer, advancing to Friday’s final against Havana.

Eschmeyer 77 a longtime Pekin farmer died Tuesday at Pekin Public Hospital after residence of 50 years He was born in Rivley County Indiana April 23 1875 and married Elizabeth Fornett in 1905 He was a St Pauls Lutheran Church member and long-time Isenberg school board member Surviving are his wife a daughter and a grandchild Funeral services will be 115 PM Friday at the family home and 2 PM at St Pauls Lutheran with burial at Meadow Lawn Cemetery.
