Manito Rotary Club plans to honor Forman High School basketball team as guests at next week’s meeting. Weekend Group Visits Connect Parkland and Pekin

American Legion to Sponsor Hospital Equipment Plan

The American Legion Mason Co. Council in Mason County Illinois starts its annual magazine subscription drive to fund portable adjustable hospital beds with mattresses for home use. Equipment will be housed for free public access in Bath Easton Forest City Havana Kilbourne Manita Mason City San Jose Topeka and nearby rural areas, with authorized publishers' reps explaining the plan.

Dr Louis A Lynch Dies After Short Illness in Chicago

Dr Louis A Lynch a Manito resident died at St Luke s Hospital Chicago at 9 30 p m Friday April 24 1953 after a short illness He was born May 22 1906 in Ludlow IL son of Charles Lynch He married Christine Furrer March 4 1932 in Havana He is survived by his widow two children John Patrick and Mary Helen his father three sisters two brothers and a number of relatives He practiced dentistry in Pekin since 1946 and previously in Easton Cuba Lewistown He was a Major in the Military Service 1941 1945 and 1946 1947 Funeral services were held at Manito Methodist Church burial at Easton Cemetery with Hill Palmer American Legion Post in charge of rites and music by George Ethell.
