A head on collision near Manita Blacktop injures Marlow Caulkins operator of Standard Service Sta. and his wife Mrs. Caulkins. Marlow remains in serious condition with skull fracture and leg injuries while Mrs. Caulkins is in fair condition after surgery. Their daughter Susan is released to her grandmother in Pekin.

A very light turnout of 156 votes occurred in Manita Village on Tuesday April 21. Carroll Farnam was unopposed for village president with 135 votes, Winfred Willard won 137 for clerk, Chas Gordon Jr led the Citizens with 90 for police magistrate, Chas Hill 53, trustees Howard Boyd 121 and Howard Wells 78, Ernest Beebe 64, James Bernshausen 62, Hudson Tift 59, C B Willard 55. Howard Boyd and Howard Wells were elected trustees on the Citizens ticket, Ernest Beebe on the Peoples ticket.
