Forman Sr High School hosted Athens and Mason City at the local athletic field on Thursday April 9. Pat Lynch and Ron Thomas led field events and sprints while the team emphasized collective scoring as Athens and Mason City trailed Forman with final tallies in the 100 yard dash and other events.

Township Election Totals Show Broad Voter Turnout

A total of 563 votes were cast in the Township Election held Tuesday April 7 with both parties fielding candidates. Precinct I and II reported results for Supervisor Assessor Clerk Justice of the Peace and Constables with the new board totals listing Hirst Behrends Lee Wistehoff Hamilton Bernshausen Schimmelpfenning Zimmerman Cole and Radefeld. Party ballot totals show 31 Democrat ballots in Precinct I 32 in Precinct II and 32 Republican ballots in Precinct II and 64 in I.

Youth for Christ Rally Set for Saturday Evening

The Manito Youth for Christ will hold its monthly rally this Saturday at 7 30 p m in Forman Gymnasium. Rev William Whitehead of East Peoria will speak on youth ministry and pastoral work with special music from local churches. The event, normally the first Saturday, was postponed one week for Easter activities. A cordial welcome and fellowship await attendees.

Sunday Visits and Local Social Notes

Mrs Ruth Parkins and children spent Sunday with Evelyn Tim brook and son. Mrs Mary Barnes of Normal and Mrs Lillie Sadler of Bloomington were Tues evening guests of Mrs Pearl Neikirk. Mrs Ties Velde and Mrs James Seelye were in Pekin Monday to visit Mr Velde. He is reported slowly improving. A family dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr and Mrs James Seelye Easter. Guests for the day included Dr Clyde Ulrich Peoria and Mr and Mrs Wayne Wistehuff and sons.
