Namoi Regional Library gains new brigade and growth
A history of the Namoi Regional Library shows councils joining from Tamworth to Namoi, with Tamworth as headquarters and branches at Manilla Barraba Quirindi Nundle Woolomin Hanging Rock Bowling Alley Point and later Gunnedah Narrabri Walcha and more. The scheme serves about 47 630 people across 10 757 square miles, with growth in borrowers and books and funding from councils subsidies and library income. A new Klori and District Bush Fire Brigade is formed to protect the area from Manilla to Cockburn Shire, with Forest Glen as headquarters and W R Grantham as captain. the meeting also approved equipment needs under the Bush Fires Act.
