R.S.L. Club Rooms to Close and Manilla College Enrolment
The Tamworth area reports dwindling enrolments at the Technical College. Dressmaking and Wool class participation is low with only 12 students in total across day and night courses. The Department warns of closing the Manilla branch if day class demand does not improve. At Manilla Sub-branch RSL monthly meeting a £2750 borrowing plan for a new building, the White Way on Court and Manilla streets, was approved. The project aims to renovate at a total expected cost around £6300, with £4250 purchase price and £2000 renovations. A Special Building Committee was formed to oversee plans and cost estimates for full renovation, to be reviewed at a general meeting in the new building. The original Straford street site will be sold.

Garage Burglary Reported in Stratford Street
Mr Joe Abberfield reported his Stratford street garage entered on Tuesday night. A sum of £4 was stolen after he left at 5 30 pm and returned about 6 15 pm to find a door pushed in. The door damaged the rear of a parked car as police investigate the burglary.
