Tamworth and Manilla ATC inter-flight parade and dance
Members of Tamworth and Manilla Air Trainees Corps squadrons took part in an inter flight parade in Manilla on Saturday. About 40 cadets marched past central square to the recreation ground and back, under Squadron Leader T Treloar with the Deputy Mayor and civic leaders present. The Tamworth Pipe Band led the march and several cadets wore blue uniforms for the first time. A large crowd watched as the visitors were entertained at a Memorial Hall dance that night, attended by over 500 with 50 dancers and raising more than £18. Music was by J C Dengate, MC H McGrath, a Monte Carlo dance won by Keith OShea and Lola Crapp. The Manilla ATC Welfare Committee thanks all helpers.
