Visit of Housing Commission Chief to Manilla
The Housing Commission of New South Wales chief Mr E R C Gallop visited Manilla with Secretary Mr Bourke and Allan the inspecting architect to launch the Commission Building Programme. Tenders were called for three homes in Rowan street as part of 13 planned for Manilla with more to follow. Allocation prioritizes wage earners in rural development, then town needs, with homes purchasable by occupants.

The Manilla Spastic Centre Council urges public support for a Friday street stall with saleable donations welcome after 9 am. A six-ton bag of wood will be auctioned by V. J. Miss Minnie Algie, daughter of the late James and Mrs. Algie of Sydney, died in Manilla on August 30. She lived most of her life in Manilla, taught Sunday School, and served in the Church of England, Kensington Red Cross, and influenza relief efforts during 1919.
