Manilla St. DUI Incident Report Under Police Chase
Constable Medhurst and Constable Stanford pursued a utility truck driven north on Manilla Street at about 7 30 pm on August 23. The vehicle swerved across the road, forcing the police to fall in behind until stopping after about one and a half miles. The defendant, unsteady and smelling of alcohol, admitted three or four beers and claimed he did not think he was swerving. Previously charged with theft, his bond was previously suspended on conditions. The defendant asserted he would have stopped and stated he was very much under the influence.
