Minister for Local Government J. Renshaw approves a government subsidy of £3795 to Manilla Municipal Council for electricity distribution extensions to 37 new consumers and Mandowa Shire costing £8780. New consumers include wheat and poultry farmers and pastoralists. Subsidy under Rural Electricity Subsidy Scheme paid over several years.
Town officials report the clock has been restored to full operation with a synchronous electrically driven movement replacing the old battery unit. The mechanism stops on power loss but failures are rare, and painting of the face and housing will complete the refurbishment. original 1939 movement details noted.
