Council debates two pools for children at river or bank site
The Mayor and Aldermen heard a report by Health Inspector Mr. H Roberts on two proposed children’s swimming pools. One option would be a river low weir pool costing about £1267 with a £30 yearly upkeep, the other a bank side pool costing about £1470 with £130 annual maintenance. Public Works funds and local fundraising were discussed, with preferance leaning to a bank side pool near the dressing sheds.

Protest against Keepit Dam closure signed by Manilla groups
In the North West a large number of Manilla organizations joined a Telegram to Minister Enticknap protesting the Keepit Dam closure. Signatories included Manilla Municipal Council Manilla Graziers Assn Manilla Poultry and Sheep Assn Manilla Sub Branch RSS ASLA and Manilla Business Men’s Assn. The telegram urged reconsideration and supported the Gunnedah Chambers of Commerce calling a public protest meeting. Mandowa Shire Council has offered support after forwarding the telegram.
