Records topple at annual school sports carnival
The Main illa District Rural School held its annual athletics carnival at the Showground on Friday with multiple records broken. Oxley won secondary house points with 109 to Namel's 93, Peel led primary with 66 to Gwyder 52, Castlereagh 36 and Macquarie. Coral Kingdom and John Hayne starred, with Kingdom breaking junior and senior 75 yard records and junior high jump, while Hayne won the senior cup and a special 880 yards cup.

Jock Kennedy CNDBA Singles Championship Trophy Planned
At the CNDBA annual meeting it was decided to memorialize J D Kennedy former secretary with a trophy named the Jock Kennedy CNDBA Singles Championship The trophy will be placed in the Manilla Clubhouse and a replica awarded to each year's winner.

G S Handicap 300 yd stage results at rifle shoot
The Saturday shoot marked the second stage of the G. S. Handicap over 300 yards with scores for J. A. Bignall H. C. Dengate A. T. Hall W. R. Nott W. G. Hall Dy Single and J. Thompson. Next Saturday features the 2nd stage of the John Blair Handicap over 500 yards. An all day shoot for championships NBA Spoon and Coorey cup set for Sunday August 3 with members asked to arrive by 9:30 am.
