Driving Under Influence Two Men Bonded
John F Browning and Ronski Green pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in Manilla Street. Browning received a conditional discharge on a two year bond of 30 pounds with surety. Green was granted a 30 pound two year bond. Both cases cited section 556A of the Crimes Act and noted prior good character and work obligations.

Remanded Until Next Court At Mitnilla Court
Lionel C White and Peter Gerard Byrnes were remanded in the Mitnilla Court of Petty Sessions to the next sitting. White faced a charge of driving under the influence and Byrnes faced four charges including driving under the influence, culpable driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident. Both are scheduled to appear on August 27.

The Manilla Branch of the Australian Red Cross Society held its annual meeting and reported a 1952 year ending June 30. Associates and members packed the weekend with stroke and match play. B grade finals saw John McGrath defeat John Turner 5 and 3, Mort beat Carless 8 and 2, with McGrath to face Mort over 36 holes. Mrs Carless won the B trophy event, and Mrs Taylor led the Mrs Waters trophy with 38 points. Next weekend features the mixed Canadian Foursome first round and a Sunday 36 hole final.
