At the Manilla Scout Group Committee meeting the cheques totaling £14 0s 0d were handed to President A J Budden by Mesdames L Grill and B Boylant. Proceeds from a jumble sale and a competition added to the Building Fund, now £197 19s 3d. Mr C Hayward won the competition. Secretary Love resigned. Mr Jackson appointed Secretary. John Hachting approved as Scout Master. A tender of £40 for demolition and purchase of the brick frontage of the Scout Hall was accepted. no tenders for new hall frontage were received and the matter is being investigated.

Showground Improvements At Agricultural Society Event
Tomorrow the Agricultural Society hosts a free working session at the Showground to finish a new ring fence. Organiser Tom Bowman invites committee members and sporting body representatives to attend at 9:30 am, with afternoon tasks for those unable to attend in the morning. Any public member interested in Showground beautification is welcome.
