Rebate Tax in Respect of Dependents Amended
NSW Commissioner outlines changes to the Special Income and Wages Tax Act 1936-37 affecting declarations for dependents rebates. Wages from 1 December 1937 earn a 6d week rebate per dependent through May 1938, with automatic continuation and new declarations required if dependents change before June 1 1938. New forms will be available at post offices and police stations. existing forms may be used until then.

At the Manilla Branch meeting a motion for more rigid regular inspection of motor car and lorry brakes was considered. A Premier letter notes police can inspect vehicles under Regulation 93 94 and a Road Safety Conference committee found periodical inspections practicable. A Road Safety Council will address brake inspections and report back to members as developments occur.
