Opening Ball of Season Draws Big Crowds in Manilla
A 600 strong crowd attended the Anzac Ball in Manilla marking the 1953 opening of the ball season. Seven debutantes were presented to Mr. and Mrs. A A Duprez as flowers, with decorations by L Durham and R M Windeyer. The stage featured WW II campaign photos and a Queen Elizabeth II image. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Mrs. J H Nixon and Lindsay Durham. Supper duties were managed by L Ridgwell's team, orchestras from Manilla and Tamworth provided music, and Jim Russell hosted the event.

Treasurers report shows March end with a debit balance of 237 pounds 19 shillings 6 pence. Receipts totaled 959 pounds 11 shillings 1 penny including 821 pounds government subsidy while payments reached 1000 pounds 17 shillings 3 pence. Daily patient average 9.8 with 47 treated in March 14 remaining. 33 discharged and 27 new outpatients.

Manila Hospital Board Feels Reserve Over Resignation
The Manila Hospital Board met in Council Chambers on Friday with Chairman R C Veness presiding.
