Queen's Maids of Honour to Attend Coronation Train
Six Maids of Honour will accompany the Queen at her Coronation on June 2. Wearing white gowns by Norman Hartnell they will bear the Queen's purple robe train and serve as attendance in a format echoing Queen Victoria's ceremony. The four named maids are Lady Ann Coke Lady Mary Bailice Hamilton Lady Jane Vane-Tempest-Stewart and Lady Rosemary Spencer Churchill, all close friends of the Queen and Princess Margaret.

Manilla Subscribes Half of 17th Security Loan
A Commonwealth Loans Organisation representative said Manilla has subscribed only half of its £16,500 quota for the 17th Security Loan. Mr. W. P. Connelly noted this is disappointing as Manilla usually oversubscribes. The loan closes tomorrow and subscriptions are taken by any Bank Manager.

Bowls and cricket share a lively club night on green
A crowded Monday at the local green saw forty eight players and many spectators as cricketers and bowlers enjoyed a social match. Face Lift for Station Jo Cal Railway Station
The Jo Cal Railway Station is getting a facelift with workmen removing old paint for repainting and only minor structural work planned. Local groups had long urged the Railways Department to improve the station. Coronation stamps will be issued on May 25.
