A 1907 letter from telegraph company workers in Jacksonville argues for public sympathy and a swift settlement. They cite long hours, rising living costs, shifts to lower pay, and call for an eight hour day, 15 percent higher salaries, equal pay for equal work, and machines provided by the companies.
The Seaboard will offer a low rate for Florida Day at the Jamestown Exposition with tickets on sale September 28 for travel from Norfolk to Manatee Bradenton Sarasota Tampa and other areas. Fares 18.30 to 19.05 with parlor and sleeping car eligibility and a ten day return limit. An elaborate program is planned and reservations may be made via local agents or Jas F. Taylor.
Notice of Final Settlement. Six months after the date hereof I will present to the County Judge of Manatee county Florida my final accounts and vouchers as administratrix of the Estate of D. H. Johnson, deceased, and will make my final settlement as such administratrix. Dated this 4th day of July, A. D. 1907, Mrs Mattie Johnson, Administratrix.
