The Record urges immediate progress in Manatee as new Mayor and three Council members take office. Citizens are asked to co operate to advance city interests and start a crusade of progressiveness. Also promotes Dr King s New Life Pills for bowel regularity with 25 cent guarantee.
Manatee residents praise the Johnson Old home on Main Street after it was purchased by ex mayor Jonh J. Pelot. He ordered extensive repairs and yard beautification, transforming a once familiar property into a striking new site.
The Manatee ice factory is getting underway as the majority of its machinery arrives. Installation is in progress and expected to be completed soon. The Record is told the equipment is top quality and the ice produced will be of superior standard.
G W Cloyd of Plunk Missouri recounts a past accident when a jammed pistol barrel wounded his thumb. He avoided amputation after applying Bucklen's Arnica Salve which cured the wound. Available for 25 cents at J M Samuel's druggist.
Alexander Benton of Rural Route 1 Fort Edward New York extols Dr King's New Discovery claiming it cured his asthma six years ago and similarly cured incipient consumption in his son's wife after the first bottle ended a terrible cough and left other symptoms improving until she was well. He lauds its power over coughs and colds as marvelous and notes a full guarantee and price details.
The Artesian Bottling Works owned by George C. Patten and R. J. Stevens, two Manatee men, is now operating in Bradenton. The plant features up to date machinery and produces high grade bottled goods from pure artesian water. A distiller is advertised as the purest water. Demand has been strong from the start and plans are under way to add another bottling machine.
Notice extends the collection deadline to May 24 1907 by order of the town council. 8S. G. Curry serves as collector.
The Record reports talk of building a new wharf in Manatee at the foot of Central Street. A prominent citizen proposes a waterfront project near the hotel with an initial $500 pledge, inviting others to contribute to boost town growth without harming the existing wharf.
A Texas reader endorses Ballard's Snow Liniment as a quick relief for rheumatism sprains and muscle pains. The ad lists prices 25c 50c and 1 and notes sale by J M Samuel in Tenaha along with a testimonial from C R Smith about chest pains.
Emil Broberg writes from Yale South Dakota after a five day trip to visit his daughter Mrs Jes sie Perry. He notes vast prairie uplands sparse timber and a cosmopolitan population dominated by Scandinavians. He prefers Florida as home but praises the state and its people. Ice cream freezers advertised by Wiggins.
Judge Swayne in Pensacola federal court declared Florida real estate tax assessment laws unconstitutional. The order against Walton county Tax Collector Charles F. Turner enjoins tax collection and land sale ads for Jackson Lumber Co. of Alabama. The suit claims valuation rise from 92 082.65 to 158 510 without consent and cites due process and constitutional rights.
Closing exercises of Manatee Junior High School will be held in Gates Hall Monday evening at 8 o clock May 27. The program includes plays drills and recitations from all departments. Public invited. T W Yarbrough principal. Swift's Premium Hams offered at Lloyd & Co's.
The Record reports on both House and Senate sessions in Tallahassee with delays in passage of bills while new measures flood calendars. The editor urges quicker action on statewide issues and notes a Seaboard special car trip from Tampa to Richmond on May 2 for the U C V event, listing local attendees and cheap fares.
Victor C. Lloyd his wife and their young son Earl have returned to Manatee after a sojourn in Georgia and multiple Florida stops. He had hoped to relocate but chose Manatee as the best option and friends hope he settles permanently.
A two week series at the Methodist church closed Sunday night led by Pastor W. Norton with Rev. L B Bridges from Marion S C. The revival drew strong interest and resulted in about forty professed faith and church membership. Bridges began a new series of meetings at Bradenton on Wednesday night.

Judge J. J. Stewart refuses continuance while Claude LEngle evades service. Bond estreated after failure to appear, capias issued and returned by Leon county sheriff per Gov Broward. LEngle may be held only after legislature adjourns. contempt remains unresolved. Texas Ranger plows, at Adams'.
