The Show place of Manatee county is on the market for the first time. Forty five acres of hammock land in Fair Oaks include a residence valued over ten thousand dollars. Thirteen acres bear ing seedling orange trees nine hundred trees, seventeen acres cleared and fifteen acres uncleared with a Palm grove, banana patch, and a stone packing house. Bounded on the northwest from the house.
This property fronts north by Rockey Creek and east by Sugar House Creek where yachts can approach the house within yards. The orange trees are thin-skinned and juicy. The large house sits on grounds with spreading oaks and palms and a national reputation. Sugar House Creek connects to Manatee River and Tampa Bay, offering water access. The property is advertised as surprisingly cheap.
Campaign committee of Manatee County Democratic Executive Committee recommends John B. Singeltary Braden town Florida for Prosecuting Attorney after declaring no other candidates qualified for the office in the March 1907 primary. Motion to call off the primary due to a single candidate is documented.
Parrish Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, was instituted and its officers installed last Friday by District Deputy Grand Master 8S. E. Curry. Attending were Masons from Manatee, Bradenton and Palmetto who assisted in the ceremonies. The lodge has operated under a dispensation and now boasts a strong membership of respected local citizens. The event brought visitors to the hospitable town, noted for its zestful day. Duke of York and B. B. tomato, Early Fortune cucumber and all leading varieties seeds in bulk are advertised at Adams'.
Elysian Club held a Martha Washington Tea at Gates Hall in celebration of Washington's birthday. Nearly the whole town attended and the event raised over $50 to replenish the club treasury and fund a schoolyard fence project.
Sheriff Hans Wyatt of Manatee county visited Tampa yesterday and was hosted by Sheriff Jackson. He returned to Braden town with W. E. Collins and Henry Justice, both accused of larceny and gambling. Wyatt notes a record celery yield and local prosperity.
The Democratic Executive Committee of Manatee County Bradenton Florida names Cons T Curry Ol?m and Frank A Walpole as secretary and member composing a campaign committee dated February 25 1907 with attest.Frank A Walpole.
The Manatee ice factory will be rebuilt on the old site after debris clearance began Monday. Construction will start soon with machinery ordered and installation to begin, aiming for early summer operation.
W. E. Robinson of Palmetto, representative for Townsend & Mills of Philadelphia, traveled along the south river side this week in the Manatee district. The firm has long served shippers in the area and is praised for reliability.
The law bars J. W. Nettles Jr from being county treasurer as he also serves as Manatee county registration officer. Governor Broward offered the post to Frank A. Walpole of The Record, who declined then accepted a later offer. The Record’s editor and D E C chair Charles T. Curry backed Nettles. A short notice also promotes full blooded Black Minorcan eggs and a few chicks from S. E. Pulliam in Manatee.
