Manatee Drug Store Reopens Under New Ownership

County Court activity continues into week with several criminal and civil cases. the Manatee Drug Store, formerly Dr. J. M. Samuel’s shop, bought by Bradenton Drug Co. is being remodeled as Manatee Drug Store. The store will offer a full drug line, a certified prescription department, and periodicals, with home delivery from Bradenton if needed.

Bradenton Voters Elect Mayor After Tight Contest

Bradenton held its annual municipal election Tuesday with a lively mayoral race. S. Corwin and A. F. Wyman were the candidates. Wyman defeated Corwin by twenty four votes as the day ended in quiet good will.

Mrs. T. M. McDuffee Dead After Long Illness in Florida

Mrs. T. M. McDuffee died Friday January 17 at 2 45 AM after a long battle with consumption. She and her husband moved from Orlinda Tennessee to Manatee Florida seeking health. The Knights of Pythias led the funeral arrangements and the service was conducted at home before burial in Orlinda. She leaves a devoted husband three daughters a sister Miss Lillie Brown and four brothers. The community mourns her loss.

Pleasure Dock Proposal Sparks Community Funding Drive

A local push in Manatee seeks citizen support to extend a four foot wide pleasure wharf at the foot of Central street. Cigar man E P Lloyd leads with two hundred feet of walkway already built and fifty more, aiming to reach deep water for naptha boats and sailing craft. Total cost around $200 including piling lumber nails and labor, with the plan to attract tourists and boost river access and boating for residents.
