Willis Laws Golden 50th Anniversary Celebration

Mr and Mrs Willis Law of Glenwood celebrate their fifty years of marriage with an open house on Sunday October 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Tabor Legion Hall. Hosts are their children Mr Clark Underwood of Shenandoah and Mr David Wylie of Neilsville Wise.

Anniversary Dinner Honors 40th Wedding Milestone

Mr and Mrs Joe Copperstone celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a turkey dinner hosted by Gary Copperstone and family at the Gary Copperstone home. Guests included Mr and Mrs Charles Copperstone and Alma Knop. Cards gifts and refreshments followed with cake ice cream and coffee served.

Mills County Cancer Crusade totals 5091 dollars

Mills County Unit of the American Cancer Society held its annual meeting in Malvern on Tuesday September 21. New officers include Nelson Weide unit chairman Mary Lauridsen vice chairman Margaret Lincoln secretary and Marie Coppers treasurer. The 1976 crusade raised 5091.78 with JoAnn Harmon crusade chairman and Norma Thieschafer co-chairman thanking volunteers. Plattville township saw notable contributions from Mrs. Wayne Lincoln and Mrs. Philyis Stonerook.

The Southwest Iowa Creighton Club will hold its annual alumni party on Wednesday October 6 at the Sixty-Four Club in Council Bluffs. Alvena Wasserman celebrated her 97th birthday. Rev and Mrs Cowell conducted Sunday church services.

Nishna Cottage Hosts Fall Social Series in Malvern

The Nishna Cottage group held a wiener roast at Malvern Gun Club park on Sept 3 followed by a Rock Tail party a week later with guests Mrs Ethel Shafer Dorothy and Mrs Eleanor Scott. A fondue party on Sept 17 featured meat cheese and dessert fondue. They visited The Nishna Care Center for a monthly dance and played bingo on Sept 22 with apple cider and donuts. New members Doris Anderson and Marie Bledge joined from Missouri Valley. Buck Harris and Cleo Clark from Glenwood attended. Bernard Scott returned home in Villisea. Doris Anderson remains in hospital.
