Gable Returned as Malvern Pastor for Another Year

Rev. M A Gable wins reappointment by the Des Moines Conference to lead Malvern Methodist Church for another year. The conference considered at Indianola included about 250 ministers and engaged superintendents across six districts, announcing no changes in Mills County except Strahan and Pacific Junction. The Malvern appointment lists Gable alongside other district leaders. a district-wide roster followed. A wedding note: a mixed bouquet ceremony ended with a luncheon and a Chicago honeymoon trip for the couple Hart and his bride, a Talbott niece.

Mina Lenore Young daughter of Mrs. T. J. Young and Eldred Schuyler Hart son of Mrs. Ernest Hart married in Macedonia on Saturday afternoon September 22 at 4 o'clock. The ceremony in the bride's mother's living room was conducted by Rev. H. D. Glassburn with about 100 intimate guests. Best man Henry Hart from Fort Shelling and bridesmaid Miss Luly Mitchell of Lincoln attended. The bride wore real lace and lavenderette crepe with bouquet of lilies of the valley. canopy of palms and flowers framed the ceremony.

Old Settlers Meet in Malvern for Reunion and Picnic

The Old Settlers Association of Mills Fremont and Pottawattamie Counties meets Friday September 28 in Malvern for a day of indoor programs at the Christian church and an outdoor picnic in the city park. Hon J B Weaver of Des Moines will speak plus local reminiscences. Mills County Drum Corps will provide martial music and a free Muscatine watermelon feed.
