Mt Vernon Residents in Many Community Activities

Mt Vernon area residents participated in numerous family reunions, picnics, weddings, and social visits across Iowa and Nebraska. Notable events included the Miller family reunion at Pik Lake Park in Craig Missouri, and a Herrick reunion in Audubon with 28 attendees.

Mountain vacation highlights from Mile Schmidt correspondent

Mr and Mrs Otha Dickersbach and Mr and Mrs Lester Knop returned home Tuesday from a week in Colorado visiting Garden of the Gods Royal Gorge Seven Falls Pikes Peak Estes Park and Denver en route staying with Emil Doncbheske and Mary Jane at Palmer Nebraska Glen and Steven joined them there. Tuesday evening visitors included Mr and Mrs Vinton John Up and family from Henderson and Donnie Marvin and Claudia. Afternoon guests were Mrs Merrill Sargent Dale Lee and Ronnie from near Pacific Junction for Mr Chamberlains birthday celebration.

WSCS Sets Sept Reception and Fall Events

The WSCS Executive Committee met August 28 at Emmett Gipe's home. Planned events include a teachers reception on September 11 and a Fall Roundup dessert luncheon on September 16 at 1 30 p m, with a Fall Seminar on September 22 at Silver City.

Family Reunion At C W Kayton Home Hosts And Guests

Family reunion held Sunday at the C W Kayton home with 63 people attending a picnic dinner honoring Mrs Harold Schell and daughters of Seattle. Guests included Kilpatricks of Topeka and Shenandoah Fichters and Trivelys, plus Kaytons and Randoph residents. Several relatives visited others and a local 4 H ice cream social occurred despite rains.
