Strahan Method Church restarted services under minister six months ago. A forestry conference and youth rally were held with attendees from several towns. The sale on 21st featured refreshments as wives and families gathered. Local health notes discuss vaccines and milk programs for child protection. Visitors included Matheson family, Gov decor details, and several residents sharing news from Oak Friday to Pueblo guests.
A Sunday through Tuesday run of visits and gatherings spans Tarkio, Malvern, Shenandoah, Red Oak, Thurman and surrounding areas. Notables include Mr and Mrs Marvin Woodfill, Miss Father Chris at Tarkio Mo, and numerous weekend guests from Griswold, Omaha, Emerson, Indianola and Shenandoah._EVENTS include suppers, church clubs, and family visits with extended kin and friends in homes from Belvue to Malvern.
Donors from the Jolly Janes group collected corn donations and proceeds at Frank Olson farm on Thursday afternoon to furnish the new church. Mrs. Hut and Mrs. Gleason served. offering totaled 15.17 dollars. A cradle roll program featured poems and gifts for six children read by Janet Warren. The choir performed at the event and other community members visited and celebrated various occasions, including anniversaries and birthdays, amid social gatherings across the town.
The Future Feeders held a meeting in 7 TS at Tavis' home with 17 members present. The secretary Hoger Johnson read next year’s program, which was approved. Refreshments were served. next meeting set for Alien Williams' home on Nov 19. reporter Petii Fichter. A local 4 H club meeting at the Methodist Church in Silver City featured a talk by Pieter Maree Fender and a social period with refreshments. New officers were elected including Elaine Mass as president Sharon Mass as vice president and Judy Schroeder as treasurer Charlene Bond served as historian. An upcoming Family Night and lunch details were noted along with recruitment for 4 H membership in Malvern and nearby areas.
