Randolph couple united in double ring church wedding

On Sunday afternoon at the United Methodist church in Randolph Miss Kathy JoAnn Houchin and Steven Lee Grindle of Malvern were married in a double ring ceremony. Rev. Charles Curl officiated before yellow carnation and bronze daisy arrangements, with Lois Aistrope at the organ. The bridal party wore ivory and mint green gowns, the couple residing on a farm south of Malvern where the groom farms.

Bicentennial Concert Honors JoAnna Perkins and Bonnie Corron

JoAnna Perkins and Bonnie Corron performed in a Des Moines Bicentennial Concert at Veterans Auditorium to celebrate 200 years of Independence. Presented by the Professor Stanford Hulshizer Memorial Piano Ensemble, the event united 76 pianos with participants from Drake University and other colleges to raise funds for cancer research honoring the late professor.

Silver Urn Chapter Met In Regular Session Tue

Silver Urn Chapter No. 168 held its regular meeting Tuesday Oct 19 at the Malvern Masonic Temple. Plans were made for a fall bake sale set for Saturday Oct 23 at Larrys Hardware starting 9 am. The collection went to Iowa Grand Chapter ESTARL project. Iowa Grand Chapter meets in Waterloo Oct 26 27 and 28. Refreshments served by Mrs. Duane Hampton Mrs. Ted Hall and Mrs. Lyle Boone of Tabor.
