American Legion Auxiliary and Legion Dinner Meeting Report

Attendees at the Liberty Memorial building in Malvern included 7th District leaders Les Eddy Anita and Keith McCall Shenandoah with others such as John Phelps, William Costello, and Max Blackburn. Sarah Crocker Presents Juvenile Court Program

Sarah Lou Crocker a therapeutic recreation student was invited to present a program to Hartford Juvenile Court Staff. The design aims to build common ground with young offenders rather than rely on authority alone. She studies at Northwestern College Winsted Conn and is daughter of Mr and Mrs Marlin Lemonds West Branch formerly of the Strahan Emerson area.

Book and Study Club Meeting Notice

Malvern BPW Club met Monday November 14 at Hillsdale church with 24 members and one guest. Thanksgiving at Senior Center Full of Fellowship and Fun

The senior center celebrated Thanksgiving with 46 reservations for dinner and an afternoon of fellowship games cards and music. Emerson visitors delivered gifts and shared a noon lunch at Nishna Care Center. A film titled The Gentle Giants will be shown November 25 with lunch. Road Runner bus transport is available. Santa and Mrs Santa will entertain children.

Altogether Group Members Meet at Glenwood

Last Wednesday residents gathered at Glenwood for the Altogether Group monthly meeting. They enjoyed a craft project and thanks are given to Craft Corner and Linda Rice for refreshments. The group reports all family members are home from the hospital and wishes a happy Thanksgiving to all readers.

Nishna Care Center Residents Fall Visit Glenwood Center

On Tuesday and Thursday residents were taken to Glenwood to visit the shopping center. Hastings Federated club hosted a bingo party on Nov. 16 with prizes of apples or bananas and homemade cookies with coffee.

Memorial Books Now on Display at Malvern Library

Generous Malvern residents funded a new library shelf and added many memorial titles. New arrivals include All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot and Stone Bull by Phyllis Whitney, among others dedicated to Harold Sinner Harold Grindle David Hohenstein Emil Behrens Leta A Haris Sadie McClure and John Harris II. Additional donations feature Star Wars The Snow Mountain Slaughterhouse Five and more, plus Forrest Chantry bequests including The Rest of the Story and Ancient Egypt.

Busy Bees and Future Feeders Meet at Strahan Church

A Strahan United Methodist potluck on November 6 welcomed ten members to complete project enrollment cards. Three new members Mike Cheney Scott Mason and Timmy Maher joined. Officers installed include Arnold Frazee president Vicki Curtis vice president Paula Hillyer secretary Suzi Bruce treasurer Brian Hillyer reporter historian Mark Costello. The group enjoyed Ecuador slides presented by the Costello family led by Brian Hillyer.
