Jurgens Patterson Nuptials Nov 16 at St John Litheran Mineola

Carol Sue Jurgens and Larry Lee Patterson wed Nov 16 at 4 pm at St John Litheran Mineola with Rev G O Wangberg officiating. Attendants wore sapphire blue and mist blue gowns, bridesmaids included Maryann Jurgens and Sherry Barton, best man Jack McManigal and groomsmen Gene Jurgens Terry Marshall and Jim Irwin. Hugh reception at parish hall and Town National Guard Building Glenwood followed by honeymoon to California.

Baptist Debora Society Reflects Officers

Mrs Lyle Williams hosted the Deborah Society meeting last Wednesday afternoon. Main business was the election of officers for 1970 with Mrs Stanley Waller as president Mrs Darrell Frederickson as vice president Mrs Tom Clark as secretary and Mrs John C Hall as treasurer New dinner chairmen will be Mrs Stanley Waller and Mrs John Kline with Mrs Max Blackburn as co chairman.

BYF Holds Skating Party At Shenandoah

Baptist Youth Fellowship members and sponsors enjoyed a Saturday evening skating outing at Shenandoah with transportation by Darrell Frederickson Ina Scarff Richard Anderson and others. The Sunday BYF meeting in the church dining room featured refreshments led by Karl Frederickson and Lora Pearce with a devotional by Janet Scarff Monica Anderson and Laura McConkey.

Ruth Circle Plans Future WSCS Meeting and Mission Gifts

Ruth Circle of WSCS met in the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on November 13 at 2 30 p m. Mrs Ken Scott led devotions and a prayer hands vigil. A gift collection for Bidwell Riverside Community Center in Des Moines was presented to Mrs Mel Scheffel. Next meeting set for January 15 to host a missionary with others.

Dolans Awarded 31000 in Car Calf Damage Suit

A Mills county district court jury awarded Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dolan of Henderson a total judgment of 31000 against Dr. 4 F Wearin of Hastings. Dolan received 6000 and Mrs Dolan 25000 after claims for medical expenses loss of services and for 15 percent permanent disability and pain. The accident occurred December 13 1966 when Mrs Dolan swerved to miss a calf and the car struck another calf. Jurors listed include Stanley Water foreman Donald Wrammer Sheryl Dinklage Toward Mulholland Helen Blunt Keith Mintle Jean Wilson Earl Barber Marie Cule Evelyn Garrett Marilyn Graham and Arline Grantham.

Mr and Mrs Quentin Johnson spent the weekend with their son David and family in Des Moines. Several visitors including Mr and Mrs Homer Connell and Mrs Robert Bell came to Corning and Malvern. Amy Jo Hoffman was born Friday November 13 to Mrs Ray Hoffman in Miles City Montana. Mrs Virgil Ramsey left Saturday to visit her daughter and family.

Top Carcass Award to Harold Skerritt by Feeders Group

Harold Skerritt of Ingraham two Mills county farmer earned the top carcass award in the Mills Montgomery Livestock Feeders Assn contest held last July. Dan Phelps finished second, Kevin Swanson third, Hyde and Hyde Angus fourth, and Don Dunston fifth. La Verne Obrecht showcased contest results and the state convention is set for December in Sioux City. The Mills Montgomery group will host its annual banquet January 15 with speaker Red Blanchard.
