Emerson to Have Union Service on Wednesday
Emersonians and others are invited to the annual Thanksgiving eve community union service next Wednesday at 7 30 p.m. in the Emerson Baptist church. The service will include a Thanksgiving sermon and special music.
Emerson News: Booster Station Ladies Host Monthly Coffee
The booster station employees held their monthly coffee at the community building with Mrs. George Jones and others in attendance. Henderson visitors Mr. and Mrs. Virsit Morris joined Mr. and Mrs. Bert Morris the previous night. Frank Reps and John Finley hosted Sunday dinner guests. F. R. Birdsall spent the weekend in Council Bluffs with the Birdsall family. Roger Peters and Omaha visitors were seen in town.

Mrs Whit Shepard and others visited Oma ha and nearby towns this week. Mrs Carrie Colie fell outside her home about 6 30 a m Saturday and sustained a broken knee she was taken to Red Oak hospital. Phillip Plummer and Phyllis of Carson joined Bert Morris home for Sunday visits. The Chastains and Ora Franks Jr visited Henry Burmeister in Red Oak. Bob Stille and family attended the wedding of Jack Ross and Mary Jane McFarland in Omaha Friday night.

Services Held on Friday for Mrs Roy Shoemaker
Funeral services were held at the Climax Methodist church for Mrs. Roy Shoemaker on Friday November 9 1962. The Rev William Fry conducted the service. Charlotte May Morse born May 3 1885 near Percival Iowa taught in country schools and held clerical posts in Detroit Pittsburgh and Omaha where she met Roy B Shoemaker whom she married September 3 1921. Survived by husband two daughters Mrs Donald Eastwood and Mrs Eugene Carlson two grandchildren and a brother Fred Morse. Burial in Walnut Cemetery. Mrs Shoemaker had lived near Climax for several years and was active in Sunday School.
