Emerson WSCS Circles Hold February Meetings

Emerson WSCS circles met in February with reports of quilting projects for the Cherokee Methodist Center. The Junior Auxiliary hosted a Valentine event at the Legion hall and a Mother-Daughter Tea drew attendees from Malvern.

Community Visitors Share Weekend in Nearby Homes

Numerous residents and relatives from Des Moines Omaha Red Oak Clarinda and Council Bluffs spent weekends and Sunday dinners with family in many homes. Guests included Ray Lewis and family. Ed Burton two brothers and sisters. J A Jentina Wentz and daughter. Larry Simpeon. Mr and Mrs Max Bullington. Mr and Mrs Joe Hoover. Mrs Myrtle Walker plus many others in social gatherings birthdays visits and church events. A Naval Air Station assignment for Lemion Decker was noted along with new telephone directories distribution and birthday celebrations across the region.

Dinner crowd honors Sir and Mrs Lester Henderson

Liverty Mr and MMrex Joe Mayberry of Malvern and Mr and Mrs C B Goodell attended the Hendersons dinner Monday. Most items brought satisfactory prices. Mex Bromer Mayberry of Glenwood wore the afternoon great on Monday for Mrs W W Windle.

Monthly Church Board Meeting at East Lid

The February church board met Thursday evening in the East Lid church with Rev. Merle W. Burres opening in prayer. Mrs. Dale Alexander led the session, minutes were read and approved, and Mrs. W. C. Stotts presented the financial report. A chili soup supper fund raiser was planned for Friday February 24 with free will offering. Officers for the new year were chosen, the last quarterly conference is set for March 2 at East Liberty with Dr Henry Teele presiding, lunch of cookies was served, and no other board meeting is planned until April. Dinner guests included Mrs. K Cullington Emma Lou and others.

Mrs Hayes Returns Home After Hospital Stay

Mrs Hugh Hayes was released to return home with Mr Hayes after a hospital stay in Jennie pa munison hospital Cornell Biotts following a check up last Tuesday. Her brother in law and sister Mr and Mrs Don Mo Campbell of North Pratt Minnesota visited for a few days. Relatives and friends from Omaha Silver City Grenwood El Dorado and Shenandoah attended gatherings and meals in their honor over the weekend and visitors included Mr and Mrs W C Stotts and Mrs Daisy Bell of Glenwood.
