The Wesley Sander School hosts a Christmas program on December 17 at 7 34 PM. The event invites the community to attend and enjoy a jovial hour with treats for children plus coffee and cookies.
Mrs. Donald Parker and Mrs. i Don Godiry hosted two bridal showers for Mrs. Linde K. Palmer Osler at Macedonia on a Saturday evening. Connie McClain organized the gift unwrapping program while Mona Lee Schwinder man and Ginger and Greg Jah son performed. About 45 guests attended despite snow and cold. The table served tea and mothers Mrs. A. Palmer and Mrs. Oster presided. gifts were plentiful and a lamp was presented to the couple. Marsha Palmer and Karen Palmer aided at the gift table with others from Wesley including Mrs. Gene Bolton and Mrs. Clinton Parker.
School ended Monday afternoon and remained closed Tuesday as new snow and drifting roads made travel hazardous. Rev and Mrs Clement Rowe attended a district conference at Anita during the week.
The Café Club Christmas party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Blu with attendees including Ellis Grindie, Everett Gipet, Jos Hathaways, H. B. Kier, Guy Grindlies, and others from Malvern Glenwood and nearby towns. High scorers were Ellis Grindle and Mrs. Ralph Briley. Low went to B. BR, Kier, and Mrs. Gipe. A grab bag exchange and a menu of sandwiches, cookies, and coffee followed.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 36 p m at the Strahan Methodist church for Tom White with Rev John Lippincott officiating Singers were Mrs Omer Cozad and Mrs Gay Orindie Jr in attendance Interment followed at the cemetery The Reeves Dowal home was in charge Aliie Thomas White born February 14 1899 near Athelstan in Taylor County died December 6 1961 Married Rosa Marfusco April 29 1911 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1961 Survived by Rosa two sons Laurence and Marion of Tabor two daughters Mrs Dale Nims of Council Bluffs and Mabel at home two sisters Mrs Paul Booker and Mrs Burl Brown two brothers Frank and MacClel land eleven grandchildren and many relatives and friends Numerous relatives attended from many towns and communities A son Ray preceded him in death
